Pumping Mast

You mentioned tightening the rig to the point the doors won't open/close, have you already tried setting the rig up with signifigantly less compression ?
Perhaps the hydraulicly induced backstay loads and swept spreaders with tight, tight caps are trying to pump the rig with their tension/compression ?

Or maybe not...
