![]() Here's one of the new sail hanks. We had old bronze piston hanks which were hard on the hands and looked likely to chafe the stays. They had a quoted BS of 720lbs. I made the new hanks from 2.5mm Dynex. They took about 10 minutes each and have a working load of around the same as the BS for the old hanks. Material cost was $0.80 each.
