So the old boom was 14'2". Not enough room for an out haul and had a single attachment point. This is where it broke. We went from a footed to a loose foot on the sail and that in a moderate wind was too much for the old boom. the boat is a Yorktown 33 and the new sail was made by Mauri. Thank you for a quick response and if more info is needed let me know.
