I'll be installing a rigid vang on my Hunter 280 and would like a suggestion on type of fastener to use. I'm comfortable with drill & tap but am always ready to learn. If stainless machine screw into a tapped hole is the best choice, is Loctite sufficient? Or would a different product be better? Tef Gel?

Hi C,
Drill & tap for S/S machine threads is best. Use fine thread fasteners... in the relatively thin wall UNC threads are no better than screws (bad). I suggest Tef Gel for this application. Cheers, Russ |
